Joel left for Ft Benning Oct 5, 01. He started training
on Nov 5. After 14 weeks of very rigorous training he 'turned blue' on thursday march 7 '02. We were all there. I (mom) put
the cord on his arm. For those of you who dont know about 'turning blue': Only Infantrymen have a blue cord. Anytime you see
a soldier with a blue cord on his arm you know that he is a fighting soldier. He has been trained to use weapons. Infantrymen
are the first in and the last out. They are America's Treasures!
We dressed Benji in camo. It was a surprise for
Joel. I ordered the camo suit from Ranger Joe's online. Joel thinks the world of his little nephew. We found another "Pooh"
camo suit the night before graduation and of course we just had to have it!!
