Our dogs dont know they are dogs!! Shhhhhhhhhh, it'll be our little secret. No matter how big, they are house pets. Thanks
to my dad, I now have a huge fenced in back yard. I have a 6x10 kennel with a roof, and a smaller fenced in yard we were using
as a garden til the drought hit. My fence is chain link. The dogs do love it, but they dont think they should stay out too
long, and at first I had to walk out with them because thats just the way it had been without a fence.

Israel

Israel is a ditsy dog! She is a HUGE shep/lab mix. Sweet as can be and loves to go in the car. She was born in '93, she
was the offspring of our neighbors German Shepherd. All the puppies were black except her, at 6 weeks of age she came to our
home.
UPDATE: May 3 2006
Israel died today. She got sick late yesterday afternoon. Later that evening I realized it was probably Bloat. Id never
experienced that before so Im not sure. Joe Max was going to take her to Gary to put down as soon as he could get home from
Abilene. Israel died at 3 pm. He got here at 3:20. I wrapped her in a comforter and it took both of us to load her in the
PickUp. She was a Gentle Giant. He buried her and read a scripture over her. Malachi 1:5 "And your eyes shall see,
and ye shall say, 'The LORD will be magnified from the border of
Israel' "
When Israel was young she loved to run. She chased cars and got hit several times. When she was eight years old she came
to Texas to live with me. I left Ohio in '96 and she stayed behind to be Joe Max's ever faithful companion.
At eight years old she didnt run much anymore. By the time she was about 10 she had lost control of herself and had to
move out to the grooming shop. Also was having difficulty getting up and down. I kept her weight down so it would be easier
on her. She still weighed over 100 pounds. She was HUGE. Our "Gentle Giant" She is missed greatly but is now running
like the wind with Buster, and telling BeBe all about whats happened since she crossed Rainbow Bridge. I love you Izzy
Girl!!

Oh MY! what can I say about this lil ball of fire!! She is spoiled ROTTEN!! BeBe was born in '93, 3 mo before Israel was born.
I gave her to Angel for her 8th birthday, but as usual, the 'child' became mine. I just have a way with 4 legged children.

"Homer" before I caught him |

|
I fed him in the drive way for over 2 months |
May 4 2006
"Homer" happened up sometime around the first of March 2006. I tried to run him off for about 2 weeks. He was
eating the stray cats food on the front porch. He was cute as he could be. He was missing half of his right ear. The left
ear was long and folded in half and laid across top of his head. I dont know if he was dumped out, or if he was lost. I started
feeding him in the driveway. Even bought 50 pounds of Zach's puppy food for him. He liked the chicken and rice better.
I kept trying to touch him and pet him. I gave him dog biscuits all the time. And I called him "Homer"
because he was homeless. He learned his name real fast. I could see him way out by the lake and hollar "HOMER" come
eat and here he'd come. He loves other dogs, even to the point of going in and out of my neighbors yard to play with
their dogs. Fox Trot and Israel would bark and run the fence with him. Some one came by one afternoon wanting to take
him home. So I made it my priority to catch him. I coaxed him in the gate by holding Fox Trots collar while the gate
was open and he came right in and I shut the gate. I called the people who wanted him, but they never called me back.
The only way I can catch him is to pet Fox Trot and he will come up and dodge me until finally I get my hands on him. Im not
sure what breeds are in him, I plan to take him to the vet real soon for shots and such and maybe Gary can tell me. Since
Israel died yesterday I plan to keep Homer. He is no longer homeless. He has to stay in the kennel for now because he
doesnt like it in the crate. I let him out for several hours morning and night so he can play with Fox Trot. He is leash
trained, which is more than I can say about Fox Trot LOL I'll up date as the years go by.
UPDATE:
Homer got his shots and is on heart worm prevention now. Gary said he was part Basenji. He weighs just under
30 lb. Fox Trot has become the calm one now that Israel is gone. He has taken over as "King" and Homer is his underling
:o) They are best buddies now. Homer sleeps in his crate right next to Fox Trot's crate in the grooming shop. Homer
is such a happy dog. He still wont let another soul touch him except me.

Panzer

We adopted Panzer on 12/02/00 from a vet clinic in San Angelo. His owners moved and couldnt take him along. They left
him at the vet to be put to sleep :( The vet told them he would try to find him a home and gave him 2 weeks. I saw the ad
in the Thrifty Nickel and went after him. He will soon be 7 yrs old. Had I been sent an email picture of him first, I
wouldnt have even bothered. He shows his age, but after I "met" him in person, I couldnt resist him. He was so very glad to
see somebody, he thought he was going home :( you could tell he just assumed he was being boarded again and his mom would
be after him soon. Well, Im his new mom and we are getting along swell!! He is a woman's dog, and will protect his territory.
He has lots of energy for his age, is obedience trained. We are working on just getting to know everybody, very carefully.
I dont know how long he will live, but he will have a very good home til its time for him to go.
July 2, 2004
It was time for him to go. He was limping badly, didnt want to get out of his crate and growled at me alot. I decided
it was time. Joe Max called Gary for me to find out just what I needed to do. No one else could do this job. Panzer would
bite anybody cept me and my daddy.
I would have given anything if Joe Max could have done this for me, but it fell on me this time round. I bathed him the
day before and of course he felt better than he had in weeks. This morning he was running the fence with the neighbor dogs
and felt pretty good. I almost didnt go. But at 8:20 am I loaded him up in the car and we went to town. I went in and told
them I was here. Gary went out and looked to see just how big he was to determine how many cc's of whatever. I paid
and went out to car to get him. The boys had already tried to get him out of the car, no dice!! I had switched collars so
I could keep his collar and tags for a keepsake, I had to muzzle him to go inside, I led him in the door and handed
him over and said 'bye bye' and as he walked thru the procedure door I turned and left. I love you Panzer Boy

Christmas '03 |
Fox Trot is full of pee and vinegar!!! He was a foster dog. Came to me with
barely healed broken foot. He was found on the side of the road and taken to Gary to treat his foot. This family kept him
a few weeks, but apparently he was more than they could handle. So they turned him into to the Humane Society. I got custody
of him. Man oh Man! This was about the same time the disc in my back ruptured. So I couldnt work with him. He was about 6
mo old. He isnt leash trained and still jumps up on you ALL the time. However, there is not a mean bone in his body. Ive never
heard him growl, he hardly ever barks. He is just a happy dog all the time. He is crate trained and lets me know if he's too
hot or too cold to let him inside the shop. He doesnt like thunder or rain or fireworks. He isnt worth a plug nickel, but
I wouldnt take a million dollars for him. Im not sure what his birthdate is so I estaimated it and gave him Joel's birthday.
I think he was born fall of 2001. I got him in May of 2002. We did find him a home but the lady wanted me to keep him
for several months til she got moved. Stupid me, I did. She finally came after him and I bawled all day. Well, a month later
he was found wondering the streets and turning over trash cans on the east side of town. I went after him and the rest is
history!! He's a doodle!!
Update: April 21, 2012
Fox Trot is getting old and gray. He is getting hard of hearing. I will try to get a new picture
soon. But he is doing well for a 10 1/2 yr old dog. Oct 17, 2014
